Mike Foster, MA, LPC
Mike has a passion for coming alongside individuals and helping each to realize that they have within them the ability to create powerful and lasting change through self-exploration, discovery, and creativity. Mike’s work seeks to help individuals identify their own ability to make positive changes in their lives that produce health and happiness.
Mike brings a straight-forward, results-based approach, “beginning with the end in mind.” He engages clients beyond simply identifying symptoms of the problems, but also helping them to identify symptoms of the solutions, thereby creating a clear road-map for success that is tailored to the individual. Through this, he utilizes techniques that are rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Existential therapy modalities.
As a clinician, Mike enjoys supporting individuals and families from multiple levels. He has worked in many capacities including residential, in-home, as a hospital program director, and as the owner of Central Counseling; a psychotherapy and consulting practice serving the northern Denver area for the past nine years. In addition to providing individual, couples, and family therapy, he has also been a speaker and trainer for individuals working with challenging teen populations. Incorporating his everlasting desire for personal expansion, Mike is currently completing a law degree with the intent of using more means to service those in need. He is also a trained mediator and has worked with split households in both pre and post-divorce meditations. In all of these areas, Mike consistently brings the same enthusiasm, directness, and passion for helping individuals to pursue improved outcomes for themselves and those they care about.
