Leslie is a child and family therapist who gives exhausted parents and hurting children the hope of experiencing peace, love, and connection.  She holds her Master of Arts degree from Denver Seminary, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Board-Certified Counselor. Leslie is trained in Trauma-Informed Care and Attachment Theory. She predominantly uses play therapy and Trust Based Relational Intervention strategies when working with children and families. Her background encompasses working with families from all walks of life doing intensive, in-home therapy for crisis stabilization on issues such as suicidality, self-harm, substance abuse, and aggressive anger. Extensively experienced, and drawing from the latest research, Leslie works with both children and adults on a wide range of issues including: physical, emotional, and/or sexual trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, anger, foster care, adoption, behavioral challenges, and major life transitions (e.g. separation/divorce).

Leslie acknowledges that every child and family is different and that it takes vulnerability for a parent to entrust a professional with their child’s mental health; parents are critical to her work and are involved every step of the way. Because of this, Leslie uniquely approaches each child and family she serves to facilitate meaningful growth towards treatment goals.

Leslie is a calm presence with a warmth and compassion that makes those who work with her know they have an ally who truly understands their situation. For parents working with Leslie, she knows you’re doing your best, selflessly pouring yourself into your child, and yet are often unable to provide every piece of the puzzle that your child needs. With a passion for her work, Leslie dedicates the best of her mind and heart to skillfully and collaboratively unearth the missing piece.
